Phelps Brook & East Dike Rehabilitation Project
Phelps Brook is located in the Town of Burlington, CT on the east side of Nepaug Dam and the East Dike is located in the Town of Canton, CT.
This completed project is a rehabilitation that is designed to address the dam safety deficiencies and improve the protection of downstream life and property, and upstream natural resources. The project includes installation of riprap, upstream retaining walls, fill, new pavement surfaces, access roads, and guardrails.
STATE OF CT DOT – CULVERT REHABILITATION
Located at 410 Aircraft Road in Middletown, CT, this project consisted of slip-lining the existing arch culvert with a smaller aluminized steel arch culvert. The project also included installing a new end wall and headwall at the culvert inlet/outlet, gravel, stone, and a precast concrete pool and weir fish ladder at the culvert outlet. V-notched baffles were installed inside the new pipe to aid in fish navigation. All disturbed wetland and upland were seeded and new native plantings were installed when the project was completed.
STATE OF CT DOT: SIKORSKY AIRPORT IMPROVEMENTS
REALIGNMENT OF RT 113 AND CONSTRUCTION OF RUNWAY SAFETY AREA
Located in the town of Stratford, CT, this project consisted of excavation, installation, and grading of topsoil, hydroseeding, wetland mitigation, and wetland plantings for wildlife habitat and wetlands impact.
STATE OF CT – EMERGENCY EMBANKMENT REPAIRS PROJECT ROUTE 4
Located on Route 4 in Burlington, CT, this project was to reconstruct an emergency embankment stream. The work consisted of the installation of gabions along the bank of the Burlington Brook to alleviate the eroded embankment, which would have eventually effected the stability of Route 4.
CT FAST TRACK -NEW BRITAIN & NEWINGTON BUSWAY STATIONS
This job was to landscape transit stations from the New Britain and Newington Mainline to enhance the towns and communities. The scope of work included excavation, topsoil, plantings, and hydroseeding.
